Occupational Therapy at Preschool, Private School, or Daycare

Offering occupational therapy services in a child’s preschool, private school, or daycare, allows us to address developmental needs directly in the environments where children play, learn, and grow. This natural setting is ideal for observing children’s interactions, sensory needs, and motor challenges as they participate in group activities and explore new skills. By working within these settings, we can develop strategies to support a child’s specific needs in real-time, enabling smoother transitions, better social interactions, and improved task participation. Research underscores the value of contextually based therapy, as it promotes skill generalization and boosts a child’s confidence within their daily routines. Collaborating with educators and caregivers also ensures that therapeutic goals align with the child’s developmental milestones and educational journey. I will also utilize outdoor spaces (e.g. playground) in treatment sessions with this approach, in collaboration with the family and educational team.
